The Learning Process
Yesterday, I received back my amath test paper. It was not very well-done and I managed to get 18/40 meaning that I had failed. That day passed like any normal day only with a slight tinge of sadness as I had made a few careless mistakes. Later in the day, I saw a girl crying heart-wrenchingly as if something big had fallen down on her. Then, I overheard their conversation. The girl wept because she had gotten a C for her English and friends beside had all failed and she is the only one that passed.
To me, I am the only one that has passed my test, I will be extremely happy and grin form ear to ear. I mean, we all have to look at the big picture, if everyone has passed very well and you are the only one that fail, then perhaps you need to reflect on why do you fail.
Nowadays, a lot of students and parents are very 'mark-oriented'. To them, the score is the one that determines how good they are. When the child fails, parents will think that their child is lazy that he/she does not study. Then they will 'force' their child to do the stakes and stakes of assements and maybe even give them a beating. In turn, the child will also accept that score is the determining factor wo their success. They will study for the sake of taking exams and not for the passion and interest. Don't you think that is very sad?
That was what I was like in the past. When I went to Sec 3, failing is just like an ususal meal to me andi have straightened out my thinkings. What really matters is what I have learnt. What mistakes I had done and make sure that i do not repeat the same thing again. The learning process is the most important of all and one will remember it vividly in their mind.
